Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)
A new chapter in the 75+ year history of a beloved Oregon nonprofit.
Background
The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is one of the top science resources in the United States, boasting an international reputation for exhibit design and educational programing. Through its 220,000 sq. ft. museum facility and educational programs throughout the Northwest, OMSI serves more than 1 million people every year.
Challenge
At the onset of a major capital campaign and a $2 million restaurant renovation, OMSI sought to confront increased fracturing among its various owned brand properties.
Solution
OMSI hired OVO to reinvigorate the 67-year-old brand. During our tenure with OMSI, OVO guided the organization through several strategic initiatives including an extensive rebranding that included brand architecture development, positioning, and verbal and visual identity work for the parent brand and its sub-brands. Additional work has included a museum way-finding system, website design and the development of extensive brand standards documentation.
In Their Words:
“Devilishly creative and immensely easy to work with, the team at OVO has been a hit with the marketing department. It’s not often that you find a creative team that can balance imagination with practicality and then go on to deliver implementable results in record time. Highly recommended.”
